[Read by Dan John Miller] This famous memoir by John McCorkle is the best published account by a scout who ''rode with Quantrill.'' John McCorkle was a young Missouri farmer of Southern sympathies. After serving briefly in the pro-Confederate Missouri State Guard, he became a prominent member of William Clarke Quantrill's infamous guerrillas, who took advantage of the turmoil in the Missouri-Kansas borderland to prey on pro-Union people. McCorkle displayed an unflinchingly violent nature while he participated in raids and engagements including the massacres at Lawrence and Baxter Springs, Kansas, and Centralia, Missouri. In 1865 he followed Quantrill into Kentucky, where the notorious leader was killed and his followers, McCorkle among them, surrendered and were paroled by Union authorities. Early in this century, having returned to farming, McCorkle told his remarkable Civil War experiences to O. S. Barton, a lawyer, who wrote this book, first published in 1914. 2016 Most influential Canadians in baseball Canadian By Bob Elliott Canadian Baseball Network Despite his numbers in the Cactus League last spring Joey Votto knew his swing needed work Looking back the Cincinnati Road Names - Kesgrave Town Council Road Naming Introduction Road naming in Kesgrave has been the subject of many articles in Kesgrave News over the years The majority of roads on the Grange Farm List of Gunsmoke television episodes - Wikipedia Gunsmoke is an American western television series developed by Charles Marquis Warren and based on the radio program of the same name The series ran for 20 seasons The Films of Fritz Lang - by Michael E Grost The Spiders Part I: The Golden Sea The Context of the Film Fritz Lang's The Spiders (1919) is a motion picture serial Like the serial work of Louis Feuillade it is Three Years with Quantrell: A True Story Told by his Scout John McCorkle rode with Quantrill's raiders for three years and served as his scout His experiences were published as a book in 1914 McCorkle took part in Quantrill Museum of the Kansas National Guard Preserving and Sergeant Major Lynn E Holt built his distinguished Kansas Army National Guard career developing strength retaining Soldiers and insuring Soldiers received proper Rhodesian Services Association Books for Africa page 'Books for Africa' - Catalogue All items listed here new (unless otherwise stated) and are from stock held in New Zealand and sold by Hugh Bomford BLOODLINES OF THE ILLUMINATI by Fritz Springmeier (one 3 The Collins Bloodline The next family in our series of articles on the top 13 Illuminati families is the Collins family The first two have been the Astor family Press of the Camp Pope Bookshop - Camp Pope Publishing Books Published by the Press of the Camp Pope Bookshop The following books are currently in print and available for sale You can order any item by clicking the Native American Feature Films - Native American Studies All Native American Feature Films are located in the Digital and Multimedia Center unless otherwise indicated Items may be checked out or watched in-house
